Taco Seasoning Recipe

There is nothing at all fancy about this picture! Seriously, I have tried over and over to make it look more jazzed up but this is simply...taco seasoning. Of course you can use it when you make tacos. But the possibilities are endless, use it in your rice, stuffed peppers, soup or even pasta.

The ingredients I use for taco seasoning are plain and simple. Spices.

Well, if you are wondering why do I buy the enormous size of Cumin and Chili Powder? It's because I use it so much. I don't like running out of spices. Nothing much more annoying than running out of spices. (Okay, maybe someone taking my parking spot is more annoying.) So, I get spices I use often, or vanilla, or butter at Costco or Sam's Club. Okay, let's get back on the subject.

Taco Seasoning!

We use, chili powder, cumin, garlic, paprika, onion powder, salt and pepper as the ingredients in our taco seasoning. If you want to count the jar as an ingredient, that would be just fine.

All you do is start measuring your spices. I start with the big players, the chili powder and cumin.

After you add the chili powder and cumin, continue by adding the rest of the spices.

This picture shows the garlic and onion powder added to the chili and cumin powder. Is it just me or does this look like I am doing sand art? Right?

Keep going by adding the paprika, salt and pepper and your finished taco seasoning should look similar to mine.

I made this yesterday but as I look at the picture above I can sure smell the spices. Is this a new candle flavor?

Follow the recipe below. It's easy, and you can double or even triple the recipe. The Taco Seasoning when covered keeps for up to 6 months. If you are like our family we will probably need to make more Taco Seasoning in one month. I have mentioned below but you can never say it enough. You will need 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning per pound of ground beef. You also add ½ cup of water per ground beef used with the taco seasoning.
